Authored by two Civil War veterans, Return I. Holcombe and W. S. Adams, An Account of the Battle of WIlson's Creek or Oak Hills was first published in 1883, to commemorate the 22nd anniversary of the bloodiest battle of Western theater. This handsome paperback edition was published by the Greene County Historical Society in 1998.
